Nestled amid stately oaks and lush landscaping, Sacramento City College is characterized by a welcoming, scholarly atmosphere. The well-designed grounds and buildings have amazing architectural details that are easy to miss, but delight the eye and make it an interesting place to spend time and study. It's a beautiful campus and a rich resource for students. Oh, and there are some very friendly squirrels here too!
Spent 5 semesters here. I had a great time and never had a problem with any of the students or staff. With the exception of one English professor who is not great at teaching in my opinion. I feel that the programs and counselors (Ken in particular) really did a great job of setting me up with a solid plan to take the classes I needed in order to transfer to a university.
I’m currently singing with Dr Daniel Paulson and the SCC college performance choir .
It’s a great way to participate in community and SING.
DR Paulson is an amazing teacher.
He is doing a tribute choral event honoring the late Doreen Irwin my previous choral director.
We are singing Faures’ Requiem and a ton of Doreen s original choral works
One can join every semester and learn to sing !
Beautiful and well maintained campus. Easy access and easy to find spots. Admin staff is very helpful.
This is my first semester physically on this campus and the biggest complaint I have is parking. They have a new parking structure on campus and a large parking lot, but it is at the back of campus by the football and baseball fields. All the parking within campus is for staff. Half the time staff parking doesn’t even get close to fall and there are still so many spots that could be used for students. This campus as close to a residential area where you can’t park and many businesses that also have signs that they will tell you if you park. There’s no way this campus has that much staff that need that much parking. I’m already imagining how it’s going to be walking clear across campus in the rain.
My favorite community college. Have so much fun and learned so much for all those awesome teachers. Proud graduate 🎓 from this school and move forward to my under graduate in UOP! …
The "poor man's Sac State." But it's still expensive. Los Rios is clamping down on those who think Financial Aid is "easy money." So don't get lazy.
Most of the teacher/professors there are understanding of the subject and know what they're doing. The ones I met are truly honest. And it's best not to go into a running battle with any of them.
Best of all; it's not like those scams you get when you go to those for-profit, so-called "private colleges." You'll know what you're getting and you'll know what to do with them. If I didn't tap out on my finances, I'd go back and get another certificate.
Great Martin Luther King Day march with Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinburg!
